Christopher Hurst Director of the Transport and Energy Department, EIB
Christopher Hurst is Director of the Transport and Energy Department of the EIB has officially confirmed his participation as speaker at the 5th edition of Forum Invest Energy 2010 to be held between 22nd and 24th of November in London.
Christopher Hurst is Director of the Transport and Energy Department of the EIB. Composed of teams of engineers and economists, this department is responsible for project identification, appraisal (covering technical, financial, economic and environmental aspects), the monitoring of project implementation, as well as for sector studies relating to the transport and energy sectors.
He joined the bank in 1989 as an economist involved in the appraisal of infrastructure projects, firstly within in the EU and then in Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America. For five years from 1996 to 2001, he was Head of the Bank’s Economic and Financial Studies Division and was responsible for studies covering a wide range of longer-term strategy issues.
Before joining the EIB, Mr Hurst held academic positions in Economics and Management Science at the Universities of Oxford and London and worked as a management consultant. He holds a Doctorate from Harvard University and is also a graduate from Imperial College, London.
