Professor of Economics at Luiss University, Rome, from 1984.
Since 1987 he held lectures and classes on fiscal and monetary policy at the Scuola Superiore della Pubblica Amministrazione - S.S.P.A.

Coordinator of several specific and strategic projects at the National Research Council in recent years.

Member of: the Italian Society of Economists; AIEL Associazione italiana economisti del lavoro (Italian association of Labour Economics); SIEP Società Italiana di Economia Pubblica (Italian Society of Public Economics); European Economic Society; European Public Choice Society; Applied Econometric Association; Atlantic Economic Society; EALE (European Association Labour Economics); ESPE (European Society for Population Economics).

Participated in the Technical Commission formed by the Senate to study the problems and conditions of the elderly in Italy (1988). Author of the paper “Economic effects of an aging population", published in the final report of the commission.

Awarded the prize “Nuovo Mezzogiorno” (Premio ISVEIMER Lecce) for the essay “The growth of infrastructure” (1980).

Member of the Board of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” in 1995.

Author of several publications and some 60 scientific papers published in national and international academic journals.
