Adopt a Public Space!
“Adopt a Public Space!” is the first project in urban responsibility in Romania, supported exclusively through private intervention. Forum Invest initiated it 2008, with the implementation of Eurosmart Investment and the project is still in progress, under Forum Invest advisory, for all corporate brands that want to adopt their public spaces.
Because of the lack of coherent policies in architecture and urbanism, the issue of quality public spaces in Bucharest is regarded without any interest or professional competence.
Part of major urbanism projects failed implementation, while others were abandoned during the time. In this context, Forum Invest initiated the first private project in urban responsibility, for reshaping public spaces in Bucharest.
“Adopt a Public Space!” aims to create awareness input among private companies regarding the poor state of public spaces in Bucharest, stimulating them to reproduce Forum Invest`s initiative. One of the objectives of the “Adopt a Public Space!” project is to generate a precedent and to support local authorities by elaborating policy models and reshaping strategies for the urban spaces.
The first project completely redesigned by Forum Invest was Tudor Vladimirescu Square, an over 1.000 sqm public space, located in the 2nd District of Bucharest. In July 2009, after months of intense work and implementing the newest urban art solutions, Forum Invest gave back to the community a fully reshaped plaza.
In 2009, Eurosmart Investment, the partner of the project, was granted with the Companies` Trophy 2009 by the Sector 2 City Hall and the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry, for exhaustive implication in projects meant to ensure the Capital`s sustainable development.
